Diane Boyko is a strong advocate of Catholic education within the educational landscape of Saskatchewan. She was elected to the Board of Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools in 2003 and has served in the capacity of Chair for the past 8 years. GSCS educates nearly 17, 000 students in 44 schools and employs 2000 teachers and support staff.
Diane works diligently building partnerships with numerous agencies, service and community groups to ensure education is at the forefront of community conversations. She is a member of her division’s mâmawohkamâtowin partnership with the Saskatoon Tribal Council and Central Urban Métis Federation Inc. Provincially, she has served as the representative for the Saskatchewan School Boards Association to the University of Saskatchewan Senate, chaired the Canadian School Boards Asso. 2015 Congress, and currently sits on the Paul Martin Aboriginal Youth Entrepreneurship Advisory committee.
Diane involves herself extensively in volunteering with local, provincial and national organizations. She co-chaired the JUNO Music Awards in 2007, served on the committee of the CCMA Awards in 2012 and 2017, provides mentorship with Leadership Saskatoon, and involves herself with many Tourism Saskatoon initiatives. Diane’s roots are within the Ukrainian community and she proudly promotes her culture and heritage.
Diane's volunteerism has been recognized with the Queen's Jubilee Medal, the Tourism Saskatoon Volunteer Recognition Award, and the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Nation Builders Award.
For the past 22 years, Diane has coordinated the Sundog Arts & Entertainment Faire, whose mandate is to promote artisans and musicians from across Canada.
Diane shares her adventures with her daughters who live in Victoria and Mexico.
