Mrs. Avnita Bir, Principal, R.N.Podar School, Mumbai (since March 2003) is a recipient of the very prestigious National Award for Teachers 2009, having been conferred the award by the Honorable President of India. She is a post graduate in Economics from the prestigious Delhi School of Economics. She graduated from Lady Shri Ram College and has got a degree in education from Central Institute of Education, Delhi. She has also qualified the UGC (Net) Examination for Lectureship in Economics. Having contributed significantly to school education, she has been a proactive and valued member of the recent initiatives taken by the CBSE Board as well as the education reforms committee of the Hon’able HRD Minister, Mr. Kapil Sibal. She has been appointed as Member of the Governing Body of CBSE, the largest national education board of the country. I am passionate about children, education, technology and innovation. I want to be part of a community of like-minded educators who believe that technology will play a significant role as an enabler to address some of the most critical challenges in education for the 21st century learner.
