Mavis Averill, M.Ed., is currently VP of Boyle Street Education Centre, where she has worked since its inception in 1996. BSEC is an inner city high school designed to meet the learning needs of students who have been out of school and are at high risk emotionally and academically. Prior to coming to Boyle Street, she designed and worked with adult FNMI students in the Ben Calf Robe Ad Ed program. Her research has been in the area of trauma and how it affects learning.
