Jake grew up in Manitoba where both of his parents were teachers. He obtained his BEd/BSc from the University of Lethbridge and began teaching in Conklin, a small northern Alberta community where 3-grade split classes were the norm. After 2 years in Conklin, Jake obtained a position with ADLC as its first online high school math teacher. He has since worn many hats at ADLC including coordinating: home education; special education; Hutterite colony education; course development; grades 1-9; religious education; and partnerships with industry, non-profit, & post-secondary. Jake is also married to the best teacher of their six children and lives on a hobby farm near Barrhead.
